The HP 22-dd0032 All-in-One PC is perfect for anyone who wants an affordable, yet capable all-in-one PC they can quickly set up and start using. Its 21.5-inch 1080p screen, AMD Ryzen 3 processor and AMD Radeon graphics make it suitable for work, creative pursuits, and entertainment. Though a bit lacking in style, this AIO has all the functionality you could want in a daily-use machine.

In this HP All in One review, I’ll go over the features and what it’s like to use this AIO for everyday computing tasks, and how it fares as a productivity PC. From the look of things, this is an AIO I’d recommend to most folks, especially those with basic computing tasks who can’t afford the 24-inch Apple iMac. If all you need is an affordable all-in-one machine that will work straight out of the box, the HP 22-dd0032 is an excellent choice.

Design & Features

The HP 22-dd0032 sports a cloud-white color scheme, the same as the larger HP 24-DD0210 we reviewed a few weeks ago, but it’s not only a smaller replica, it also gets the same thin bezels on the screen. When you opt for a budget machine, sometimes thick bezels are just part of the tradeoffs you need to accept, making them far from sleek and premium-looking.

Luckily, the HP 22-dd0032 gets thin bezels on top and sides, it measures 19.3 x 8.05 x 14.99 inches and weighs just over 14.85 pounds. Still, for a desktop PC that’s meant to be on the smaller side, this 21.5-inch AIO takes up some considerable space on your desk. HP uses a wire-frame stand that touches down in four corners, which is a unique approach from the circular or rectangular shapes on most bases. The base covers a large footprint for a 22-inch all-in-one, and the stand doesn’t provide any room to stow away a keyboard under the display when it’s not in use.

Also bundled into the package is a wired keyboard and mouse, which is a nice addition if you need to work straight away. A wireless keyboard and mouse combo would be better especially this being an all-in-one, but you rarely get that luxury in a budget, entry-level model.

All ports are located at the rear of the screen, and they include two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, a single HDMI, and a microphone/headphone combo alongside an Ethernet port. However, HP didn’t include a USB-C with is a fatal omission, meaning you need a USB 3.0 to USB to connect compliant peripherals.

On the top bezel, there’s a pop-up webcam that you can use for zoom meetings and conference calls, a handy inclusion now that most people are working remotely more than before.

HP 22-dd0032 Review : Performance

At the core of the HP 22-dd0032, all-in-one PC is a 21.5-inch display with a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution. The display is rated at 250 nits, meaning it isn’t the brightest around, but it still gets the job done nicely, even though its off-axis viewing angles are fairly poor as well. Nonetheless, if you’ll be using this PC for watching Netflix, YouTube, or streaming any other content when not working, this display is absolutely fine. All your HD movies will pop with color, its colors are pretty accurate, and it even offers decent contrast.

However, when you’re seated a little closer and viewing text is when you start noticing the individual pixels on the display. In tech, that’s called a screen-door effect but it isn’t much pronounced on this 21.5-inch as it would appear stretched across a 24- or 27-inch 1080 panels. To avoid that, a 2K or 4K resolution is recommended on bigger screens, but 1080p is still fine here since the HP 22-dd0032 doesn’t pack a punch for professional creative tasks.

Under the hood, the HP 22-dd0032 AIO is powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD, alongside AMD Radeon graphics. This is a basic configuration that we see on most budget laptops, but it will get you running most daily computing tasks including Microsoft Office tasks and media consumption without any issues. It also comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, so you’re not losing on any latest features here.

If you can spend a little more, there’s the 27-inch HP 27-CB0052 that packs in more power and a larger screen, featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U, 12GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB Hard drive, with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. And if you need something more capable and stylish, you can’t go wrong with the Apple iMac, even if you’ll spend a little more money, it’s well worth every buck you spend.

Elsewhere, the system’s speakers provide sweet, audible sound. They produce a powerful sound that’s much solid than what you’d get from a laptop’s audio output – it’s audible enough to fill a small room, and are just enough for Netflix and YouTube videos.

Should you buy the HP 22-dd0032?

A few years ago, AIOs were dismissed for not being as powerful as traditional desktops. Now, they come as powerful as they can ever get – the latest Apple iMac and the Microsoft Surface Studio 2 are just proof of how powerful these machines have become nowadays.

With the HP 22-dd0032, however, you’re getting a legitimate all-in-one PC for basic computing tasks, without any frills – just enough power and design to keep you going. The 21.5-inch screen gives you plenty of room to work with, and it’s also great for movies backed by the decent audio quality.

On that front, this HP All-in-One is an extremely capable home-office machine. While it can’t compete with the best All-in-One PCs in the market, it still gets the job done for most everyday use. Should you need more power and style, there are more powerful AIOs out there, but if you’re shopping on a tight budget and need something stylish as it is capable, the HP 22-dd0032 is a perfect choice.
