The Teclast A78T Tablet PC is an ideal mainstream tablet for entertainment and equally a great option for casual use such as web browsing and emailing. This is not the flashiest tablet around that those interested on high performance can have a look at, but it resonates well for those on a budget that want to have a feel of a Tablet.

The Teclast A78T is a Tablet PC that comes into the market to handle multipurpose tasks based on the Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System. While the tablet industry has concentrated on manufacturing top of the range Tablets with powerful features that often cost a fortune, the Telecast A78T comes into the mix to fill the gap for those interested on cheap tablets that get the job done.

It is powered by a Rockchip RK3126 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of Internal storage. The screen size gets to distinguish the tablet from a smartphone with its 7-inch diagonal screen of 1024 x 600 (WSVGA) resolution. The tablet suffices as an affordable device that yields enough power to handle different tasks for casual users such as playing games, surfing the web and emailing.

Main Features

The Teclast is powered by a Rockchip RK3126 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor that is fast enough to run the device smoothly. The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System that is powerful enough to run and support most of the applications available in Google Play Store. The GPU Mali-400 M included is also capable of handling most of the games in Play Store.

The device comes with 512 MB DDR3 RAM that is enough for the smooth functioning of the device. Included is also an 8GB ROM of internal storage that is expandable to 128GB with the help of an SD Card to create enough space to store all your videos, music, applications, photos and games. The use of a 512 MB RAM is at the lower end, but then considering the fact that the device is lowly priced, it is worth it.

Other Features

In terms of connection, the tablet features a Micro USB slot to connect the device to a computer for transfer of data, a TF card for expanding your storage and a 3.5mm Headphone Jack to connect your headphones to listen to your music or watch movies without disturbing others be it in the house or while travelling. Talking about music, the tablet supports AAC, MP3, and WMA music formats. Wireless connectivity is available by way of Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n wireless internet.

In a bid to keep the device cheap, Teclast stumbled when it comes to the camera. The device has a single front camera with 0.3MP. The photos and videos quality of the device are of poor quality hence it is not that kind of a device you can carry around hoping to use in taking Selfies or capturing those important moments.

The lack of a rear Camera is also questionable, but then we learn to say less given that it’s a very affordable tablet. But then if you will be compelled to use the Tablet in taking photos and videos, it supports BMP, GIF, JPEG, and PNG picture formats and 3GP, AVI, and MP4 video formats.

Conclusion

The Teclast A78T Tablet PC is an ideal mainstream tablet for entertainment and equally a great option for casual use such as web browsing and emailing. This is not the flashiest tablet around that those interested on high performance can have a look at, but it resonates well for those on a budget that want to have a feel of a Tablet. The modern design and features packed on this device enables it to offer a stellar performance for light weight tasks.

The tablet allows you to expand the memory to 128GB with the help of a memory card to cater for your needs, should you be into much music this is enough space to store your music and videos. Despite the flaws seen on this tablet such as a 0.3MP front camera without a rear camera, the tablet suffices as a low end budget device for casual use.

That said, the The All-new Fire HD 10 tablet remains our Editors’s Choice for basic tablets.
